Pillar 4 - Sensory Foundations
Occupational Therapist–led sensory profiling & integration
Sensory Foundations offers specialist, Occupational Therapist–led support to help children whose sensory needs affect their daily experiences, behaviour, and learning. By understanding how each child processes the world around them, this approach focuses on reducing overwhelm and creating environments where they can feel regulated and secure. Through personalised strategies and collaboration with families and professionals, children are better supported to engage, function, and thrive.
For children who:
- Are overwhelmed by sensory environments
- Mask at school then dysregulate at home
- Struggle with transitions, clothing, noise or movement
- Have sensory needs impacting behaviour, attention or learning
Support can include:
- Sensory profile assessment
- Sensory diet planning
- Environment adaptations for home and school
- Practical regulation tools and strategies
- Collaboration with tutors, mentors and schools
Outcome:
Sensory needs are understood, behaviour makes sense, and support becomes targeted and effective.
